Modern and completely stripped site
Dairy Crest was intent on demolishing the whole site until the Brunel-built building in the centre of the site which once formed part of the engineer’s atmospheric railway was listed and saved from the bulldozers.
After my previous visit/recce, I knew this place had more to explore.
Now I had access sorted I thought it was time to take a look inside, and it really didn’t fail to please. I really carn’t find any info on this place, all I know is at the moment its abandoned. Except for security.
Fire on September 14th, 2008
On 6th May 2006, 140 officers were involved in a raid on the Dance Academy on the city’s Union Street. It follows a five-month operation which officers say showed class A drugs are being used and dealt there.
Iranian-born Manoucehr Bahmanzadeh, 52, earned up to £2m a year from the Dance Academy, one of the largest clubs in Plymouth, Devon, a court heard.
Bahmanzadeh was sentenced to nine years at Plymouth Crown Court. Club DJ and general manager Tom Costelloe, 37, from Honiton was also jailed for five years.
Both were found guilty of allowing the sale of the class A drug.
So after abit of planning I thought it was time to take alook inside, nearly two years after closure. Inside was nearly untouched, except for natural decay taking over.
